Resolved Question: Is this a good gift idea for my new bf's parents?
I'm in long distance relationship now. I recently started dating this guy who lives in a different state, somewhere I used to live, and I plan on moving back after the summer. We have been friends for long time but decided to start dating, since I'm moving back. It's not too serious right now. But I plan to visit him for a weekend in July and I will be staying with him and his mom for the weekend. I wanted to get her a small gift as a way to show my respect and gain her appreciation. I never met her before. But I also wanted to impress my bf with this gesture, so I don't want to ask him what to get her. I am coming from a small mid-west town where cherries are a tourist attraction. My mom suggested I get her gourmet chocolate covered cherries. Would that be a good choice? I have fears she might not like chocolate or something. I have no clue. i know she's filipino descent. Any other suggestions? I wanna stay away from flowers, food and wine maybe. I'm also flying so it has to be easy to stuff inside a suitcase.

Resolved Question: My mom is bitter about a gift I bought for someone...?
I hang out with an older couple who are like a second set of parents to me. I've known them for over a year.
My real mom is great and I see her once a week even though we don't have much to talk. I get along better with the couple because we have a lot of friends in common and we sit around talking about other things that happen in the community, which my mother knows nothing about.
I got the woman a small pillow for mother's day saying "mom (her name)"
She is like a mother to me and I can count on her to talk to and she is always willing to have me over for coffee or dinner, which I can't do with my mom on a regular basis (I'm 32 with an 11 year old sister, so my mother is focused on taking care of her),
my mom e-mailed me since I had a photo of me and the woman with the pillow posted on fb, as a nice sentiment.
My mom seemed to get upset, saying she never got a personalized pillow and usually you get that type of gift for a real mother who has been a big part of your life.
I feel like I was on the defense all of a sudden, because I just wanted to do something nice for this woman.
I got my mom gourmet coffee and cheesecake, which she will love, and they all cost more than the little pillow I got for this woman.
What can I say to my mom? I told her already that it was just meant to be a nice sentiment, it's not like she's replacing my real mom..
Is my mother making too big of a deal?
The woman I got the pillow for isn't into jewelry, flowers, lotions, soaps or even technology, so I tried to get her something personal instead.

Resolved Question: Girl Gourmet cupcake maker question?
My kid got the Girl Gourmet cupcake icing thing for a gift - clearance price sticker on it and all - with supplies for 4 whole cupcakes. I went to the website to check on getting more of the icing packets, and the site name is up for sale. They're out of business?
Anyway, since that option's gone, does anyone know how to make or where to buy icing that works well in the machine? Thanks.

Voting Question: My boyfriend is very hard to shop for ~ please help for valentines day!?
He is 34 and I am 29. We have been dating for 4 months, and things are going well. He works hard, works out, usually eats very healthy (although their are things he likes) ... does not wear jewelry or cologne .... He smells good because of the lotion he uses. (is very adament on taking care of his skin and always has me rub the lotion on his back when he gets out of the shower bc he also loves my massages) Soooo anyway, he is very simple, yet picky so I wouldnt just buy him anything. He loves gummi bears, and we have shared a few bags, bc ive been thoughful and picked some up a few times when we are gonna watch a movie. He has mentioned b4 how he loves chocolate covered pretzels .... I was thinking of keeping it simple, because that's how it should be! So was thinking of getting a cute but simple card, writing reasons why I love him (yes we are at that point already) and giving him that with gummi bears and buying gourmet chocolate covered pretzel rods from the mall or other chocolate store .... I'm wondering if I should buy him a bottle of the lotion he uses (I can use it to give him a massage afterwards) Should I watch a movie and grab a bottle of wine? Cook him dinner at his house? I have a son from a previous relationship so idk if it'll work out where I will have the whole night and be able to cook for him or not. I was thinking of buying him a gift card to subway so he can have lunch "on me" that day when he is working .... then maybe we can just watch a movie or something but Im just not sure!! Any advice will help. Thanks.

Resolved Question: I feel like Godiva Chocolates aren't that great? What's your opinion on Godiva Chocolate?
For Christmas one of my gifts was a box of Limited Edition Godiva Chocolate Ultimate Dessert Truffles. I LOVE chocolate and I've always wanted to try gourmet Godiva chocolate so I was super excited about it. Now I've eaten halfway through the box and I'm not impressed. Except for one or two strong flavored truffles the rest all tasted identical even though they were supposed to all be different flavors.
A lot of them weren't even sweet they were sort of just blah and left a cottony chalk like aftertaste.
I just ate another one that was supposed to be "Vanilla Mousse" but it tasted exactly like all of the other chocolate flavors. I didn't even taste a hint of Vanilla and now I have that nasty aftertaste in my mouth.
I just feel like for $35 for a 12 pc box of so called "Gourmet" Godiva chocolates they should have tasted a lot better all together not to mention that most of their flavors just didn't match up or didn't have any taste at all.
The only ones I really liked were the Carrot Cake and the Strawberry and Cream Mousse truffles.
The rest were just gross.
Even the decorations were sort of boring. A lot of them just had a little squiggle of color or nuts around the outside. I had a box of Choxie chocolates once that had 12 pieces and was $7 and it was a heck of a lot better tasting and they went all the way with the pretty truffle decorations.
In fact i've had .75 Hershey bars that tasted better.

Resolved Question: could someone please help me?
Could someone please help me correcting the mistakes here because appereantly the one who received the message found this message not correct,in severe condition.English is not my native language so I need your helo :)
Home;home sweet home ! Cheap but a great choice. When my dad did some family feasts, usually once a year; he invited his friends and all the family members and the dates of his children. For the feast,he buys meals;my favourite is pike sauteed in wine or the seasoned turbot with cream. And a caviar could make the day.Elvis sandwiches + small presents with meaning to all would be a lovely gift idea. And the desserts ? Banana muffin for children, old Hilda's tart and baklava would be a really appealing dessert for everyone and also a coconut brownie would be a lovely idea for the kids who dont like banana muffin.
Tromso;the city of cold.If this article was from a week ago I would be suggesting you to go Tromso for the Saint Kobe's Day and stay there for a while but Its still a good idea for christmas. You can see the wonderful buildings while drinking chocolate and be in the silence.
New York, the crowds will be there so grab your ticket and go to Times Station. There you can feel you as a part of a big family and watching the wonderful show for free and seeing a megapole would be a wonderful idea for you.
London,do we have to say something ? London is equal to shopping so If you are in a mood for shopping go to London.Feel the rain and the cloudy, carcinogenic air !
Paris,la ville de la mode et de l'amour ! Are you a fan of art,or fashion or are you a gourmet ? Paris is the city for the ones who love luxury;bottles of champagne, wine, and the cheese ! But I would recommend you to buy cheese from Amsterdam.
Melbourne, the wild life ! Be the first to celebrate the New Year.Swim in the ocean, hang out with the kangaroos who are the nannies from the wild life.Or go to the opera.
Would you like to feel the hot but not the wild? Manila is on your service. But wait the peoples are the wild of the city !!!
And last choice would be İstanbul, seeing two continents when you enter to New Year; Its amazing. The bosphorus and the ethnic culture would make this vacation a %100 perfect vacation.

Resolved Question: Ideas for a couple to couple Christmas present?
Every year, my husband and I exchange gifts with a couple whom we are very close to. In previous years, we have sent them Edible Arrangements fruit baskets, bought them gift certificates to our favorite restaurants, and given them couple spa gift certificates. This year, they've already sent us a gift box from Omaha Steaks filled with TONS of gourmet foods.
My question is - does anyone have any ideas of what to give them this year? Prices are not an issue...I'm just looking for something creative that they'll both enjoy! If anyone knows of a company like Omaha Steaks or Edible Arrangements that sells a different product, that would be wonderful!
Thanks a bunch!
