Resolved Question: Cheese Gift Baskets...?
OR any gift ideas that involve cheese... like mentioned.. a cheese basket.. unfortunately probably not with the wine, b/c my husband and I are not 21 (that IS the drinking age right?) haha anyway! His bday is a ways off but as a gift he is crazy about cheese and basically...cheese.. I was thinking since he loves to eat.. might as well get him a cute/nice cheese basket.. additional things like fruit or meat is fine included. before I say more, I am looking for a place in OKC (Oklahoma City, OK) that sells what I am looking for. BUT if you don't live here, has anyone ever purchased cheese (or any kind of food) online? ..like I have found websites that do, and they say they deliver.. but I don't want to get like nasty rotten cheese or anything like that. It would make terribly sad and angry. Please someone help me find what I am looking for. Also one last detail.. I don't want to be terribly cheap but I am looking for anything between $20-$45 dollars.. If it is anything online.. I don't mind to pay a bit more...but I would want to know if anyone has got anything delivered from a website, and has positive feedback to share. Thanks!

Resolved Question: What do you think about gift baskets?
I work with a lady and a customer we both work with got us a gift basket. And it was a good one, too. It had a nice bottle of wine in it, some good cheese and crackers and some hot mustard. I thought it was great. She scoffed, "After all the work we've done for him this is what we get?"
She ended up giving the basket to me because she felt insulted. I might drink that wine tonight.
Khe - no,this was just a customer, not our employer directly. The gift basket cost at least $80.

Resolved Question: What are some popular snacks from other countries?
So we're trying to put a Holiday gift basket for some of our friends this year and we wanted to put a little snack or food from different countries, a "tour of the world" so to speak. Some countries are pretty easy - France has cheese, wine, croissants and Orangina, UK has cadburry chocolates, Belgium has waffles, Switzerland - chocolate, Germany beer, and Turkey and China - tea.
Can you guys give us more ideas? How about Russia, or Mexico? Something Greek? Africa, Australia, Poland, Middle East? Ideas welcome!

Resolved Question: Grade this Paper please?
No citing sites that start with wiki and no .com or .net please site where you got the info from thank you.
Elizabeth I has remained one of the most loved and respected monarchs throughout the past four hundred years, and she still remains popular with almost everybody today. Born at Greenwich Palace on the seventh of September 1533, little did the known world at that time understand the positive effect she would have on the history of the world and England as a whole. England at that time was ruled by the arguably crazy Henry VII, who in order to get Elizabeth, changed the religion from Roman Catholicism to Protestantism in order to divorce his then wife Catherine of Aragon, in order to marry Elizabeth’s mother Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth’s birth is certainly not what he had hoped for, because he wanted a boy, Elizabeth’s birth was possibly the greatest disappointment of Henry’s life. (Tudor History 1) Henry proceeded to accuse Anne of adultery and incest, and had her death warrant signed because of these false charges, and she was beheaded on 19 May 1536.
Elizabeth had two siblings, Mary I, from Catherine of Aragon, and Edward VI, from Jane Seymour. Both would rule before Elizabeth would come to power, as Edward VI. and as Mary I, Edward would die at a young age, approximately 15, it is believed that Edward had died of what was called consumption, which is believed to be tuberculosis. Mary had a stronger claim as she was the older sibling. But because Mary was Catholic and Elizabeth was a Protestant, and also because of the violent nature of religion at that time, uprisings in Elizabeth’s name were soon seen all across the nation, particularly the Wyatt rebellion, and Mary saw the danger that her younger step sister posed and decided to imprison her in the infamous tower of London on eighteen of March 1554. (Heather Thomas). When Elizabeth was told she was going to enter through Traitors gate, she refused to enter and sat all night outside whilst it was raining, until one of her ladies persuaded her to enter. (Tudor History)
Elizabethan food for the lower bracket income, was unvaried and rather monotonous. The food was mostly composed of, bread, cheese, fish, and ale. The rich and prosperous Elizabethans had a various and well-rounded diet composed mostly of, lamb, beef, mutton, pork, bacon, veal, rabbit, hare, peacock, swan, goose, blackbirds and pigeon. Some vegetables such as, turnips, parsnips, carrots, onions, leeks, garlic and radishes were eaten, but they along with fruit were regarded with some suspicion. Many new foods were introduced over the Elizabethan period such as apples, turkey from Mexico and Central America, kidney beans from Peru, and the potato. The Tudors also had a particular fondness of sweets, things such as, pastries, tarts, cakes, cream, and custard, and crystallized fruit and syrup and also, “All kinds of specialties would be made out of sugar and marzipan such as animals, birds, fruits or baskets. Sometimes wine glasses, dishes, playing cards and trenchers were made out of a crisp modeled sugar called sugar-plate which would be elaborately decorated.” (Heather Thomas)
Elizabeth was not merely content to sit on the throne, but she participated in all manors of violent sports, such as hawking, hunting, bear baiting, cock fighting, dog fighting, and a less violent one, horse riding. Elizabeth loved her small dog (or possibly many over her reign) and pets were well looked after. (Heather Thomas)
Elizabeth dressed to impress, as she was the most powerful person in this country she had to dress as such as was the custom at the time. In private she often wore a gown made of black or white, as those were her favorite colors, in public her ladies were meant to compliment not outdo the queen, and as such often they would wear simple gowns. Elizabeth did not want to persecute any of her subjects for their religious beliefs, but she , because of the split, had to take a harsher stance towards Catholics than she wanted. Elizabeth was born a protestant and as such when she rose to power, she converted the country to Protestantism, and became leader of the church of England. (Heather Thomas)
Phillip II of Spain, who was married to Elizabeth’s older step-sister Mary I, to ensure smooth relations with England after Mary died, asked Mary to release Elizabeth and put her under house arrest, however this did nothing to save Spain from severe problems later on, the majority of problems between the super power and England, arose out of religious differences between the Catholic Spain and Protestant England. Over a period of thirty years relations between England and Spain changed considerably, starting off well with Phillip proposing to marry Elizabeth, and eventually culminating into the invasion of England, by the Spanish armada. (Note: Elizabeth’s support of the English pirates may have been a major contributing factor in the invasion of England) ...
...Needless to say the Spaniards did not fare well in the invasion, even though they had the numbers to overwhelm the English Queen. The English were alerted to the incoming armada by way of fires being lit across the countryside, which could be seen faster than a horseman could travel. The English beat the Spaniards to a fine pulp, even though the English at that time were not very skilled fighters, but England would come to be the most prevalent and skilled superpower.(Heather Thomas)
The queen ruled with a fair hand, and the country was in great shock and despair when they learned that the Queen had died, of what no one knows exactly, but we do know she died on the morning of March 24, 1603. Her successor, James V of Scotland (James I of England) was the basis for the excursions to the new world by Britain, and culminating into the revolutionary war, thus creating America, enabling me to write this paper.

Resolved Question: Is it me or is the mother of the bride being rude regarding a gift for the bridal shower?
The bride is doing both a bridal shower and a hen night. The bridal shower as she put it is for people like her reserved friends and elderly family whilst her hen night is for getting drunk as a single girl one last time. I'm going to the bridal shower.
Her mother who is arranging the bridal shower called me yesterday to see if I was still able to come to the shower. At the same time she asked me what I had gotten as a gift for the bride. I told her I didn't have anything - as I didn't think I had to - but would probably bring a basket of jams and nice cheese and a decent bottle of wine. Today the bride's mother dropped off a print out version of an additional registry that the bride had made just for the shower. She had attached a note to it saying she had circled the cheapest ones for me because she knows that money must be tight with the baby coming if I want to give a homemade gift.
I just feel that the mother of the bride is being rude by giving me the registry. I don't have to give a gift at all. I don't see what is wrong at all with giving the bride a gift basket of jams, cheese and wine. I also feel she is rude by assuming that money is tight because I don't want to thoughtlessly buy her daughter a gift.
Should I just go ahead with the basket or should I just pick something off the registry?
A bridal shower isn't something that usually happens here in Wales, it is mostly and American thing. Hence why I don't know the rules of a bridal shower, I was brought but that you aren't required to take a gift to any function you are invited to but it is polite if you at least take a bottle of wine.

Resolved Question: Is this a good idea for a date?
I went on a date with a girl a week ago and it went well, but I think it was a little too cliche. Im looking to do something a bit different this time. There's a few guys trying to date her too, so I want to stand out.
I was thinking of taking her for a picnic. There is a big, leafy park in our city that I think would be perfect. Im going to get an old fashioned picnic basket, blanket, some wine and some fruit/cheeses/sandwiches etc.
Is this romantic or lame? Any ideas how to improve the idea? All opinions greatly appreciated!
